The ladies behind the orchard
Amanda first fell in love with the world of local food and wine working at Bonny Doon Vineyards tasting room in Santa Cruz, Ca. She developed a love of travel working for Outstanding in the Field, setting up epic 200 person farm to table dinners from California to British Columbia. She continued her travel to Southeast Asia, working in Alaska and eventually hiking, eating and drinking her way across Spain. She found her way to Hood River and currently works at Celilo restaurant, where she has come to know the local farms, wineries, breweries as well as local catering options, making her a great resource for you. She lives in an original victorian style farmhouse on an old Odell pear orchard with her boyfriend, dog Rusty and their farm cat.
Molly entered the wedding industry in 2004 when she began working as a free-lance wedding florist before opening her own business in 2013. Working on weddings throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, Napa Valley, Carmel Valley, the Monterey Bay Area, and then later in Washington DC, her work has been featured all over the web, published in Martha Stewart Weddings Magazine, and displayed in the United States White House. She has produced hundreds of weddings at some of the country's most exclusive venues, but still thinks nothing beats a farm wedding in the Hood River Valley where she was married in 2013. She currently owns a wedding floral business serving the Gorge, Molly Ryan Floral, and her family farms pears and heirloom apples in the Hood River Valley as Heirloom Orchards. She lives in Hood River with her husband and two young kids, Henry and Lulu.
